Step 1 : Firstly, ensure to connect your smartphone, Fire TV device, Echo Show, and Fire TV Recast DVR (can be connected directly from Amazon’s website only) to the same Wi-Fi network.

Step 2 : Next on your phone, go to the Fire TV app and then click on the “Fire TV recast” once you are prompted to do so. Later, proceed further through the welcome screens.

Step 3 : Now enable Location Access and select the range of your antenna. Following that, click on Next (Continue anyway, in case you don't know the range).

Step 4 : The Fire TV app guides you through antenna connection and placement tips. If you still rely on an indoor antenna, then it will give you the best performance once you place it on or close to your window. Also, place Recast where the antenna cable can reach it and place Recast near an AC power outlet.

Step 5 : Now connect the antenna and plug in the Recast to AC Power. Once you do that, the LED on the Fire TV Recast will start blinking white. Press and Hold down the Fire TV Recast Connect Button (located on the back) for 8 seconds.

Step 6 : Again in the next step, Connect the Recast to your network through Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Fire TV Recast registers and checks for firmware updates once the internet connection confirms. If updates are found, it will take several minutes to download and install them. Do not perform any other tasks during this time.

Once all the updates are installed, Fire TV Recast scans for available over-the-air TV channels. The progress will then be displayed on the app screen. The number of receivable channels depends on the distance and physical barriers between the TV station transmitter and your location.

Step 7 : Move the antenna to receive more channels and repeat the channel scan process as many times as needed. You can also re-scan later if you add a new indoor or outdoor antenna.

In the Fire TV smartphone app, access Settings > Fire TV Recast > Channel Management >? Channel Scan. On a Fire TV device Fire Edition TV/Fire TV stick or box, select Settings > Live TV > Live TV Sources > Fire TV Recast > Channel Scan.

Step 8 : Fire TV devices and Fire TV Edition TVs with now automatically pair once a Fire TV Recast is detected. Now in case the Fire TV device and Recast are not paired, then by using the Fire TV app to go to the Settings > Live TV > Live TV Sources > Fire TV Recast > Pair a Fire TV Recast and click on your device.

If you can’t find any options in the app, then again go to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for System Update and make sure you have the latest Fire TV software version. Your Echo Show (if any) will pair with Fire TV Recast automatically, if it's on the same network and registered to the same Amazon account.

Step 9 : Your Fire TV Recast DVR is now ready for use.

Using Recast with Fire TV in Order to Set Up And Use Fire TV Recast

Primarily you need to install aFire TV Recast, and then the top menu bar of your Fire Edition TV or TV, a DVR category adds is being added that will be connected with a Fire TV stick/box.

You just have to use your Fire TV remote to select it, rather than entering a channel number.

As we discussed earlier you can also Schedule recordings up to 14 days in advance. Although, you can also record single TV shows or an entire series once the episodes become available.

From the Scheduled Recordings/Recording Priority list, set up a recording it which can be accessed through the DVR Manager. Lastly, you need to use the DVR Manager to have access on the additional Fire TV Recast settings.
