Why is Echo Dot not Responding Issue?

Alexa Failed to Find the Smart-Home Devices. If you want to add smart home devices to your Alexa speaker easily check and make sure that the device you want to add is supported. For adding a new device directly open the Alexa app browse to smart home and click on discover devices in your devices section.

If your devices are not supported and do not have the skills. Alexa provides the official IFTTT channel and combines with yonomi, these have an extensive list of supported smart devices.

There are two ways if you have added your devices but Alexa cannot seem to connect to them.

  • Checkup the command which you use. Your command may differ based on the different skills, devices, and connected services like IFTTT. These commands can be certain commands and small disputes in phrasing or names of the devices can throw Alexa for a loop.
  • Some smart home devices can have trouble with staying connected due to software issues, crowded networks, and being constantly on or new issues.  We noticed that the Lifx bulb goes offline every few days ordering any commands to Alexa is of no use.

If these steps do not fix the issue of Echo Dot not responding then restart the speaker and removing the device and adding it.
