How to Set up the Amazon Echo Dot?

Before you start using the Echo Dot, then you will have to set it up first. Hopefully, the entire process only takes a few minutes, even if you're new to the world of smart home devices.

How to Set up the Amazon Echo Dot-

Step 1: Download and open the Alexa app (Android and iOS) on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: Choose devices in the lower right corner.

Step 3: Click the Plus sign in the top right corner, or press the hamburger menu (the three horizontal lines) in the upper left corner.

Step 4: ‘Add Device.’

Step 5: Click on the Amazon Echo icon, after the Echo Dot icon that shows on the next screen. After that, click on the image of the third-generation Echo Dot.

Step 6: Connect your Echo Dot through the added power adapter. When the blue light ring has changed into orange, your device is in Setup Mode.

Step 7: Wait for your Echo Dot to show up on your phone and choose it. You will be asked to go to your Wi-Fi settings. Before that, select the network called ‘Amazon-XXX.’ After that, back to the Alexa app.

Step 8: Select the Wi-Fi network to which you want to connect your Echo Dot to wifi. Type your password if needed.

Step 9: Choose the external speaker your Echo Dot will be using. If unable to connect this device to an external speaker, skip this step.

Step 10: Choose the room where your Echo Dot is placed (or create a new room).

Congratulations: You’ve set up the Amazon Echo Dot!
