How Can I Access Multiple Blink Camera From One Account?

Some time for the purpose of security, you may want to grow your network of cameras at once or multiple locations. Up to 10 devices can connect to a single Sync module. To add more than ten devices, or to add devices at a different location, more than one Sync Module is required. You access multiple Blink Cameras from one account.

Each Blink system is made up of a Sync Module and the devices connected to it. You create new systems and add Sync Modules from the Blink App. Then you associate cameras and devices to the new Sync Module.

Blink storage space is offered to your account as a whole. The total is calculated per Sync Module, up to five. After the fifth Sync Module is added to your account, no additional storage is provided to your account, but the system works as normal.

Benefits To Access Multiple Blink Camera From One Account

  1. When you want to check more than one property.
  2. If you wish to have 1 particular group of cameras work on a schedule that is different from another group of cameras.
  3. To prolong camera battery life by reducing the physical distance data is transmitted to reach the network.
  4. To monitor an entrance or driveway that is out of range for your primary wireless router.
  5. To segment the cameras into groups that suit your needs better.

You can increase coverage by adding to an existing system, rather than starting a new one. The Blink XT2 camera is designed to recognize networks with wireless extenders, while indoor cameras and XT cameras must connect to the exact same network name (SSID) that the Sync Module is connected to.

Residential Plan View Multiple Blink Camera

On the left-hand side, a home WiFi network named "myWiFi" has a single wireless router with coverage shown in blue. 7 outdoor and 3 indoor cameras are part of this system, for a total number of 10 devices associated with one Sync Module. 3 devices monitor an outbuilding at the end of the wireless coverage.

This scenario will work properly, but the batteries in the outbuilding might drain faster than those in the home because they must transmit farther to reach the wireless router. Make sure that the wireless internet router is kept at the place to reach the outbuilding, but not including some of the other cameras potentially out of range.

A wireless router is in the main structure, a wireless network extender is in the outbuilding, and another extender in the "repeater" mode is placed at the driveway entrance.

A wireless network extender is meant to make your wireless network have more coverage, either for distance or improved signal strength. There is a wide variety of extenders on the market. Often an extender will be set up to share the primary network, and will automatically self-assign a network name that is close to the original. In this example, the SSID "myWiFi-ext" is used. Other extenders can be set up in a mode that repeats the main network at a new location.

The Blink XT and Blink Indoor cameras must connect to the same network SSID that the Sync Module is on. In this example, we have a second Sync Module attached to an Indoor camera and two XT cameras. To establish the connection to the wireless router, an extender is required for the network in repeater mode so that it broadcasts the same SSID as the main system.

The low-frequency radio (LFR) in a Sync Module has the best range, but it only transfers commands to the camera unit. Make sure Blink cameras and other Blink devices are connected to the internet network in addition to the Sync Module. Ensure that all devices have at least three 'bars' of connectivity when viewed in the Blink App. The Sync Module connectivity icon does not indicate internet access for the camera.

Steps to Access Multiple Blink Camera From One Account

Step 1: Add a new system. After you name the system, you are prompted to add a Sync Module.

Step 2: Add a Sync Module to the system for devices to join.

Step 3: If the Sync Module connection icon shows a green line to the cloud, you can tap the Add a Blink Device icon + to add a camera or other devices.

Hence, you have successfully gained access to multiple Blink Camera from one account.
