How to Reset Your Lorex Cameras?

Please note that this guide applies to the following products: W281AA, W282CA, W261AS, W261AQ, and LNWDB1.

W261AQ Series-

To reset your Lorex cameras to default settings, follow the given steps:

Step 1: Find the reset button on your router.

For W261AQ Series, you will find that the reset button is present below the lens. In order to find the reset button, turn the lens in the upside direction.

Important: Do make sure that the camera is unplugged so it doesn't damage the PTZ motor.

Step 2: Continuously press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds until the chime sounds to reset the camera.

Step 3: Now, check for the flashing green light below the lens. This will indicate that the camera has been fully reset to defaults.

Note: You will see a solid or steady green light which basically indicates that the camera has not been fully reset. In such a case, you might have to execute the process again.

W261AS Series-

To reset your Lorex cameras back to original settings, follow these steps:

Step 1: Search for the reset button on the router hardware.

If the router belongs to W261AS Series, then the reset button is surely present at the backside of the camera.

Step 2: Continuously press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds until the chime sounds to reset the camera.

Step 3: You will see a flashing green light below the lens which basically indicates that the camera has been fully reset.

Note: A solid or steady green light indicates that the camera has not been fully reset to the basics. Remember, you might require to redo the process again.

W281AA / W282CA Series-

In order to reset your Lorex cameras to default settings, follow the below steps:

Step 1: Find the reset button. If you are having W281AA series, the reset button is given at the top side of the camera.

Step 2: Press and hold the reset button for a minimum of 10 seconds until the chime sounds to reset the camera.

Step 3: Try to search for flashing green light below the lens which indicates that the camera has been fully reset.

Note: A solid or steady green light shows that the camera has not been fully reset to original settings. With this, you might have to redo the process again.

So finally, you have reset your Lorex cameras back to factory default settings.

Resetting IP Camera to Defaults-

If you are owning an IP camera then here are the steps to reset:

Step 1: Check that your camera should be connected to the NVR via an Ethernet cable.

Step 2: Press and hold the Reset button continuously present at the back or base of the camera. You might be required to remove the housing to access the Reset button.

Step 3: Holding the Reset button for about 15 seconds, disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable again.

Finally, your camera will be reset to defaults and then restart. The restart procedure will consume at least a few minutes.
