In this, I will tell you that how can you reset a Honeywell programmable thermostat. Before going to the resetting process lets through some light on the definition of the programmable thermostat.

What is Programmable Honeywell Thermostat?

Basically programmable Honeywell thermostat is used to maintain the temperature of a home and house according to yourself. Honeywell tries to provide satisfactory products to the customer.

With the help of Honeywell programmable thermostat, you can turn it on or off accordingly through programming. It’s very easy to reset its programming to make some changes.

The Technique to Reset Honeywell Programmable Thermostat

Method 1:- For 2000 Series

The following are some of the steps to rester it’s programming. Follow it step by step.

Step 1 : Turn your thermostat off by simply holding the off button. This will help you to protect your batteries from leaking and will save your battery and money both.

Step 2 : Now detach its screws. You can do it easily without harming your product somehow its little tricky.

Make your while doing this you don’t make any negligence as it can harm your product. Once you successfully remove the screw then follow the next step.

Step 3 : This is the most important step of the process in which you have to remove the batteries.

To do this firstly unpack the area where you have inserted the battery then with the help of some pointed object remove the lid of that area and now take out the batteries.

Step 4 : Don’t be very quick while taking out the batteries and do it with care because little harsh step can loosen the spring of that area where you have to put the batter.

Step 5) Now put the batteries again but in the reverse order at least for 5-7 seconds this will reset the device. (Reverse means positive to negative and vice versa). After max 7 seconds place the batteries in the right position (negative with negative and positive with positive).

Step 6) Now cover the upper part which you have removed in the second step. Put all screws back to their place carefully. Close the device rightly without making and damage.

Step 7) Lastly, turn on the device and make the settings according to yourself.

Hence, reset a Honeywell programmable thermostat is successfully done.

Note:- The important point that you have to keep in mind while doing it is that the thermostat should not be turned on when there is no one in the building.

Method 2:- For 4000 Series

4000 Series have 2 Models:

  • TH4100D
  • TH4210D

Steps to rest the program for these models are as follows.

Step 1 : Detach the wall plate from the thermostat you can do this by faceplate placed at its bottom.

Step 2 : Turn the device replace the batteries with a new one.

Step 3 : Put the wall plate back to the thermostat.

You have replaced the batteries successfully

Method 3:- For Series 6000 And 5000

These Series have 3 Models.

  • TH5110D
  • TH5320U
  • TH5220D

The following are the steps to reset Honeywell programmable thermostat of the above models.

Step 1 : Press the tab button to uncover the compartment of the battery.

Step 2 : Replace the old pair of the battery with the new pair.

Step 3 : Place the cover back and shut it down.

Method 4:- For Series 8000

It consists of 3 models.

  • TH8110U
  • TH8320U
  • TH8321U

Follow the below steps to replace the batteries.

Step 1 : Put out the cover plate.

Step 2 : Turn around the plate of cover and remove its battery.

Step 3 : Place the cover back to its place.

Hence, your battery has been replaced.
