How to Reset Sonos Speakers?

Sonos speakers are the best speakers available in the market today. As these speaker products are integrated with artificial intelligence like Google Assistant, AirPlay 2, and Alexa. 

As we all know, all technical devices can encounter technical failures, which may require a user to perform a factory reset. There are times when the issue gets resolved by performing a single reset. 

However, there are scenarios where you may require to perform a hard reset or factory reset for your speakers. Here in this article we are going to learn how to reboot or reset Sonos speakers. The procedure may differ depending on the type of speaker you are using.  

How to Reset a Sonos Speaker?

Mentioned below are the steps that you need to carry out in order to reboot your Sonos router. 

Step 1: Disconnect the power wire from your speaker device or disconnect the wire from the power source. 

Step 2: Wait for a few seconds so that the speaker can turn off completely. 

Step 3: Now, reconnect the speaker to the power source.

Step 4: Give a few seconds to the speaker to power on. 

This method works well to fix several issues associated with Sonos speakers. But in case that does not happen, then you can try fixing your problem by applying another method which is called factory reset Sonos speaker. 

How to Factory Reset Sonos Speakers? 

In case the problem does not solve after applying the above method, then you can try and fix it by doing a factory reset. You can also remove everything from the speaker and then create a new account. Keep in mind that the steps are different for every model. 

For Play 1, Play 2, Play 3, these are the steps that you need to carry out. 

Step 1: Disconnect the speaker from the power source. 

Step 2: Press the pause or play button and keep on pressing it and reconnect the speaker back to the power source. 

Step 3: Hold the button of connect and keep on holding it. After some time, amber and white light will start blinking. 

Step 4: Once you are done resetting the speaker, then a green light will start flashing. 

For Amp, Sub Playbase, Sub, Bridge, Boost, Sonos Beam, Sonos One, these are the steps that you need to follow. 

Step 1: Disconnect the speaker from the power source. 

Step 2: Hold the button of Connect and reconnect the speaker to a power receptacle. 

Step 3: Keep on holding the Connect button and then after a while you will see amber and white light flashing. 

Step 4: Once the reset is done, a green light will start blinking on the speaker. 

How to Reset Sonos Move?

Mentioned below are the steps that you need to carry out in order to reset Sonos Move.

Step 1: Disconnect it from the charging base. 

Step 2: Hold the power button and keep on holding it for the next 5 seconds. 

Step 3: Press the button of Connect and then put the speaker back in its original position. 

Step 4: keep on pressing the button of Connect and don’t release it until you see amber and white light flashing. 

Step 5: Once you are done resetting your Move speaker device, you will see green LED light flashing on the speaker. 

How to Reset Sonos Controller?

If you wish to learn how to reset the Sonos controller app, then you are required to get connected to a new Sonos system. Mentioned below are the steps that you need to carry out in order to reset Sonos controller. 

Step 1: Launch the Sonos app. 

Step 2: Go to the button menu and the tap on More. 

Step 3: Click on Settings. 

Step 4: Go to Advanced Settings. 

Step 5: Select Reset Controller and confirm.
