How to Install Ring Video Doorbell 3 Without an Existing Doorbell?

The process to install Ring Video doorbell 3 without an existing doorbell is very easy and simple. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that you need to install the ring doorbell app on your smartphone before physically installing the doorbell.

Step 1: Charge the Battery Provided

The first thing that you have to do is to charge the battery completely before connecting it to a power source by using the orange wire. Once the battery is fully charged, the green light will glow at the end. Now, insert the battery at the end of the doorbell. The sound of the click will indicate the proper insertion of the battery.

Note: the sign of battery discharge will show up on the screen if the device is not completely charged before using it. Therefore, it is recommended to charge the battery before actually setting up the doorbell.

Step 2: Line up Your Ring Doorbell

  • Make a hole in front of the doorbell below the camera.
  • Place the camera next to the door. Also, you need to make sure that the doorbell is 48 inches above the ground.
  • Take a level tool and level the device using it.
  • Take a pencil and mark the positions where you need to make holes for mounting.

Step 3: Drilling

Now that we are done with the marking, it is time to drill the holes.

  • In case you are mounting the Ring Doorbell on stucco, concrete, or brick, then you need to use the plastic anchors provided to you. Put them in the holes and you will have to use a hammer to put-in the anchors.
  • In case you are using an optional adaptor mounting plate on vinyl or wood, then just use the screws.

Step 4: Put the Ring Video Doorbell 3 on the Holes

Now it is time to place your Ring Video Doorbell 3 over the holes. remove the level tool from the device's front.

Step 5: Add Screws in the Ring Doorbell 3

Feed the wires in the wall and then secure your Ring Doorbell 3 on the wall. Make sure that you are using all the 4 screws.

Step 6: Install the Faceplate

Put one of the faceplates on your Ring Doorbell by placing it in the slot and then clicking it in that slot.

Step 7: Tighten the Screw
