Step 1 - Begin by launching the Ring app and tap the menu icon shown as three horizontal dots on top of the app’s screen.  

Step 2 - Continue by selecting the “Motion Settings” option and choose “Motion Zones” further.

Note 1: Your Ring doorbell can be adjusted in a way to remain active in the range of 5 and 30 feet.

Note 2: You can also opt to select the “Smart Alert” feature to set as to how many times the alerts must be sent.

Resetting the Motion Detector is the Next Imperative Option

If you have tried to adjust your Ring Motion Sensor range and nothing has stopped your Ring Doorbell to give false readings then you must resort to executing a hard reset on your Ring doorbell variant.

Step 1 - Just take a small paper clip and press the “Reset” button located at the back of your Ring doorbell.

Step 2 - As a mark of the reset process initialization the sensor light should start blinking. Please note that you have to hold the reset button till the time blinking finally stops.

Step 3 - Now remove the cover from your Ring’s motion sensor and take off the battery.

Step 4 - In the eventual finality, just replace the battery and put the cover back on the Ring doorbell. 

Resetting the Contact Sensor can also be the Way Forward

When you want your Ring doorbell to capture the motion that you prefer then the other alternative is to reset the Contact Sensor of your Ring doorbell in the following manner.

Step 1 - First take off the back cover from your Ring doorbell and make sure that the battery is removed cautiously.

Step 2 - Long press the tamper button traced by the antenna followed by inserting the battery while holding the same.

Step 3 - As and when the light starts flashing, continue to hold the button until the same pauses to flash.

Step 4 - Fix the back cover and adjust your Ring Motion Sensor range finally.
