How to Reconfigure Your Sync Module in Blink Camera?

If the Sync Module is not connecting with its saved settings, it may be necessary to reset Blink Sync Module and go through the setup process again to reconnect. This will require you to know your Wi-Fi network name and password as well as physical access to your Sync Module to complete the reconfigure your sync module in Blink camera process and reconnect.

Important: Only proceed with this process if your system is not working as expected, or if you are making network or configuration changes.

What Should I do to Move My Blink System to a New Location or Wi-Fi Network?

To move my blink system to a new location or Wi-Fi network, you will reconfigure your Sync Module. This process will need you to enter your home Wi-Fi details again. You need to be physical with your system to do this with your sync module plugged in.

  • On this screen, tap ‘Change Wi-Fi Network’
  • You will now be at the Sync Module setup area.
  • You will see a screen that shows ‘Press and release the reset button on the Sync Module and wait for it to be ready.’ The blue light should be blinking with the green light continuously. In case, after 30 seconds your sync module lights are not right, you will have to press and release the reset button.
  • Now, you will see a pop-up message suggesting you join a Wi-Fi network ‘BLINK-####’
  • The app will pull up a list of available Wi-Fi networks.  Locate and tap your home Wi-Fi network.
  • Carefully enter your Wi-Fi password and tap Join on your keyboard.
  • Just after that, you will get a message saying ‘Sync Module added’.  When you get that message, tap Done.

Steps to Follow Reconfigure your Sync Module in Blink Camera

Find below the process to reconfigure your sync module in blink camera:

  • To start, tap the Sync Module - Cloud icon at the bottom left-hand corner of the App. This will take you to a page with data about your Sync Module.
  • From this screen, tap ‘Delete Sync Module’. You will be presented with a popup saying to contact Customer Service. If you know you want to delete your Sync Module, dismiss that popup by tapping ‘Ok’. Otherwise, contact Customer Service here.
  • In order to delete your Sync Module, you are required to enter or scan your Sync Module's serial number. You can find it at the bottom of your Sync Module. When the serial number is entered, Continue to delete the sync module.
  • You will be asked if you are sure you want to delete your Sync Module. When you are ready, go ahead and tap ‘Delete’.
  • Your home screen will now be dimmed with ‘No Sync Module’ displayed. Then tap the Plus button in the top right to add a sync module.

You will now be at the Add Device setup screen.

  • Select the first option Blink wireless camera system. Then enter the serial number of your Sync Module, or tap the camera icon to scan it with your phone’s camera. 
  • The serial number will begin with a 2 and can be located on the label on the underside of the Sync Module or Mini camera. When the serial number has been entered, click to Continue.
  • Selected a System screen will show where you can create a new system or add the sync module to an existing one. Choose the name of the existing system that the sync module was on before. 
  • The app will now request you to connect your Sync Module or Mini Camera. When you connect, wait about 30 seconds until you see a solid green light and a flashing blue light. 
  • If the blinking lights pattern doesn't match, then reset the sync module. When you see the light pattern, tap ‘Discover Device’.
  • The app will urge you with ‘Blink wants to join Wi-Fi network Blink-####’. Tap join.

Once your device connects to the Blink network, you’ll be given a list of Wi-Fi networks in range of your Sync Module. Choose your Wi-Fi you want to use with Blink and enter the password. Then tap Join.

Shortly after that, you will get a message saying ‘Sync Module added to System Name system!’.  When you receive that message, tap Done.
