What to Do When Echo Device doesnt Connect to WiFi?

The Echo is a superb, compact device with a different application. But it is not of any use if the Echo device doesn’t connect to wifi when you have purchased a new device or do not connect to your internet connection anymore. Echo will not speak, or follow the instruction, or play any songs if it without any active internet connection. Most of the time problems in the echo lie in the internet connection or found out when troubleshooting is done it is not found in the Echo device.

When your Echo device doesn’t connect to wifi and you didn’t find any solution, and then follow the steps which are given below.

Start with this: Echo Device with a Screen:

When you find the light on your screen is orange then your device’s wifi connection is not working. You will see the wifi network by lifting down from the top of the screen that you are connected, go to settings and select the network.

For Every Echo Devices:

If the echo device doesn’t connect to wifi. Be certain to know your network password (if required). If you find a lock image while setting the network, you will need a network password. You should know that this password is not an amazon login password.

Upgrade the Software of Your Router or Modem Device-

 
Your router uses WPA as well as WPA2 as security, by default. To solve the connection problem, turn your router security to one of the following it may be WPA or WPA2. If your router has the option for the type encryption, then set it to AES only.

Reboot Your Echo Device and Network Equipment:

You can try rebooting your Echo device, Internet modem, and/or to solve most of your Wi-Fi problems.

  1. Hold for a minute after shutting down your router as well as a modem.
  2. Then after starting your modem, let it restart completely.
  3. Turn on your router after your modem is restarted and then make sure to restart completely.
  4. Remove the power adapter for 3 seconds from the echo device and again plug it back in the echo device, when your network equipment is restating.

When you have restarted your Echo device and network equipment, try connecting to the Wi-Fi once again.

Note: If the problem is occurring again then try restarting your Echo device.

Problem with your Wi-Fi Password:

Previously if you have saved your Wi-Fi password to Amazon, then again if you have changed the Wi-Fi password recently, then you have to type your Wi-Fi password to reconnect. An updated Wi-Fi password can be saved to the Amazon by restating any suitable device through the setup process of your Wi-Fi. If you are reconnected to your Wi-Fi network again, then your updated Wi-Fi password will automatically save to your Amazon.

Lower Wi-Fi Overcrowding:

If the Echo device doesn’t connect to wifi network then the problem could be multiple devices on your Wi-Fi network. You can face uneven Wi-Fi efficiency.

  • Try turning off the device that isn’t in use to increase the capacity of your network.
  • You can also try shifting your device near your router and modem if it is another room or obstructed by an object.
  • Be sure that your device is far away from interference sources; it may be microwave ovens or baby monitors.

Note: (elective) you can connect to 5 GHz frequency band of your router if it is available in your router. Most of the Wi-Fi devices connect only to the 2.4 GHz band. If several devices use this band, then your network speed may be sluggish. You may connect to the less overcrowded 5 GHz band for much nicer range and less interference.

Get in Touch with Your Internet Service Provider, Router Company, or Network Administrator:

Check if different devices (such as your laptop, tablets or mobile phones) can connect to your internet. If it is not connecting to your Wi-Fi you can get in touch with your internet service provider, Router Company, network administrator, or the person who can assist in setting your network. They may be able to solve your problem.

Point to be noted: Echo devices are compatible with the dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz / 5.0 GHz) network which utilizes the 802.11a / b / g / n standard. Echo device does not support ad-hoc (peer to peer) network.
