Why is Alexa Blinking Spinning Green Ring?

Our lives are made easier by Alexa. Every time you receive a call, you will see the Alexa green ring after connecting it to your smartphone. Even if your phone is muted, by looking at what colour ring your Alexa is blinking, you will always know when someone is calling you.

If an Alexa blinking is spinning a green ring, it means that you have an incoming call. Pulsing and spinning are two variants of this ring. The pulsing green ring means you have a drop-in or an incoming call. On the other hand, the rotating green light indicates you are on an active call or drop-in.

How to Disable Alexa Blinking Spinning Green Ring?

Follow the steps below if you don't want your Alexa to show a green light at all.

  • Launch your smartphone computer with the Alexa App.

  • In the top-left corner, press the three horizontal lines.

  • Select Configuration >> System Configuration >> Amazon Alexa Device.

  • Select Correspondence from the General tab.

  • To turn it off, press on the notification.
  • It will turn grey after you turn off contact.
  • Your Echo will no longer display the green light to signal an incoming call or drop-in.

What is a Drop-in?

With the new Drop-In feature, you can activate a call from one device to another if you have multiple Echo devices in your home. It is an audio call for Echo and Echoes dot speakers, while a video call can be made for the Echo Show.

If they have activated Alexa Calling and Messaging on their app, you can even call your friend's Echo devices.

Regarding the Green Ring

The green light doesn't indicate that your Echo device has an error. Only one specific notification type is announced-you have an incoming call. The green one also has variations, just like some other flashing lights on your Amazon Echo.

In a clockwise movement, you will either find Alexa blinking or spinning a green ring.

What does the Green Ring Pulsing Mean?

If users on their Alexa see a pulsing green light, it means they get a call. It could also suggest that someone is dropping in. Users don't have to answer every call they receive, however blindly. Echo devices that have a screen will display the caller's name. If they were expecting a call from that person, they could pick it up.

Also, from an unknown number, they could get calls. In this case, a number will display on the screen allowing the user to decide whether to respond or reject the call.

However, if you aren't home and someone calls, if your Alexa is switched on, the green light will also start pulsing. After the incoming call is not answered, the green light will finally stop spinning, right after ten rings are done.

Why is Alexa Blinking a Spinning Green Ring?

When and until you pick up a call, the other green light option will not turn up. Your Echo will show a green light spinning clockwise to suggest that you are on an active call or drop-in.

As long as you are on the call, you can see the green spinning light. The green light will disappear as soon as you pick up the phone. However, if you're not on a call, and your Echo always displays the spinning green light.

Conclusion

Alexa has its system to inform you about incoming calls. Part of its calling and messaging functionality is the Alexa green ring. Depending on if you are having a call or are on a continuous one, it will take either pulse or spin. If it gets too distracting, you now know how to disable it, also!
