Sometimes, you’ll notice that your Nest thermostat would show a low battery. In this scenario, you’ll either keep getting a low battery message or red blinking light even if the battery is just charged. This simply means that the thermostat is unable to connect with the wifi or it causes the HVAC system to stop working.

Make sure the internet in your home is reliable. If you observe an internet issue, resetting a router may help you. If everything is cross-checked and nothing suspicious is found at your end, recharge your next thermostat battery or change it.

Often, your Nest thermostat would should an E74 error message. It simply means that your Nest thermostat is unable to draw power from the socket. It could be due to a power outage in your area or your HVAC just restarted or you may have a faulty fuse in the air handler. In this case, your Nest thermostat won’t cool to the optimum temperature.
