All you have to do is to give a voice command and let Alexa take care of everything else. Here in this post, you will learn how to use Alexa to send messages to another room.

How to Use Alexa to Send Messages to Another Room?

The new intercom feature of Alexa enables users to send messages to another room. You can listen to what people are talking about in the other room if there is an echo device placed in that room. When this condition is met, then you can give a voice command to Alexa to send messages to the other room.

The command that you need to give is "Drop-In". Once you issue the voice command and mention the name of the device you wish to send messages to. For example, "Alexa Drop-In the baby room". After this, Alexa is going to tea some time and then you will be able to hear whatever is going on in that particular room.

Also, the device in that room will be able to hear all that is going on in your room. You can speak and easily communicate with the people in the other room. This feature is no different from a phone call. Once, you are done communicating, then you can hang up and end the connection.

When you connect the two devices, you will see a green LED light on your Echo device. Also, this indicator makes sure that no other person listens to your personal conversations.

If you keep one Echo device in each room of your house, then you can easily communicate using the intercom feature. You can start and end a conversation by giving a command.

You will receive a notification from your Echo device when someone wants to connect with you from the other room. Once a secure connection is established, you will be able to listen to all that is going on in the other room.
